Programs, resources, services, support, and community referrals for parents and caregivers of children prenatal to six years.
Our goal is to enhance and strengthen the quality of parent-child relationships, provide education, support, resources, and opportunities for children to interact, grow and develop in healthy and positive ways.

Better Beginnings Prenatal Program
Tuesdays:
8:45-10:15 with older siblings
11:30-1:00 with mom & baby & pre-natal
This program provides support, knowledge, education and assistance with access to community services for pregnant mothers and parents/caregivers with newborns up to 6 months. Gift cards are given to participants at the end of each session.

Healthy Families
Wandering Wednesdays 3:00-4:30pm
Join us for outdoor adventures around Hope! After our adventure we’ll head back to the Family Resource Centre for a sit-down dinner together.

Early Years Family Navigator
The Early Years Family Navigator connects families to various community programs, resources and support, along with referrals to specialized services such as the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre drop-in, Child and Youth Mental Health, Public Health services and more.

Family Literacy Outreach coordinator
The Family Literacy Outreach coordinator assists in organizing literacy events, promotes literacy awareness and provides a number of free books, resources and activities at various events in Hope, Agassiz and Boston Bar.

Early Childhood Development Coordinator
The ECD Coordinator ensures that Early Years professionals and families with young children are aware of the range of services, supports, programs and events for parents/caregivers and their children birth to 6 years within the community of Hope.
The ECD coordinator also assists in organizing large community events for families such as Earth Day Children’s Festival, Story Time in the Park, and smaller events including the Early Years Halloween and Christmas parties.

Story Time in the Park
Story Time in the Park is a fun, family literacy based program which encourages the joy of reading together as a family.
This popular program is held every Tuesday in July at Memorial Park in Hope and has become summer tradition for families in the community.
Join us for stories, songs, music and movement, art activities and more! Free snack included for all those who register.
This program is supported by a small grant from Raise-a-Reader/Decoda Literacy and donations from individuals, organizations and businesses committed to literacy in our communities.
After the Bell Food Program
After the Bell is a program that provides healthy food packs for vulnerable school-aged children and youth throughout the summer.
The healthy food packs contain a variety of healthy perishable and non-perishable mini-meals with nutritious child-friendly foods such as crackers and hummus dip, granola bars, juice, dried raisins/fruit, apples, oranges, veggies & dip and more.
Packs are delivered once a week by community agencies and staff.

Adventures in Cooking
A FREE cooking class for kids ages 8 – 12! Stay tuned for our next session date.
Adventures in Cooking is a 7-week fun-filled cooking club where you get to cook, taste, and learn about delicious food. Being in the kitchen is an exciting, hands-on way to learn about basic cooking skills and make delicious meals each week, such as pancakes, burritos, dips, pasta sauce and more! The program is held on Mondays from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Northwest Harvest building at 888, 3rd Avenue.
