Community Support Programs

We offer a range of services to support members of the community including income tax services for low income individuals, Community Response Network support, specialized one-off services, and more!

Holly Days Program

Volunteer Income Tax Program

Volunteers trained by Revenue Canada complete basic income tax returns for Hope and area residents who require assistance.

The Volunteer Income Tax Program is available for Seniors and low income earners (single earners up to $18,000 and dual wage earners up to $30,000).

How does it work?

Bring in your tax forms (T5007, T4, T4(A), etc) to the Hope Community Services office at 434 Wallace.
A trained volunteer will complete your tax return using the CRA’s e-file program.
Depending on the volume of tax returns availability of volunteers, your tax return may be complete within one week.
We will call you to come pick up your tax return once it is complete.

This is a free service however donations are greatly appreciated.

Community Response Network

We are proud to partner with the Hope Community Response Network (CRN) to provide a coordinated response to abuse, neglect and self-neglect to vulnerable adults in our community.

The CRN works to raise awareness through resources, information events, and workshops and to ultimately prevent abuse, neglect and self-neglect in vulnerable adults.

Holly Days

Holly Days is our annual Christmas Giving program. We provide everything you'll need for Christmas Dinner in a box and toys for all the kids for low-income households.

Registration is available at the Food Resource Centre on:

Oct 18 & 19 - 9:30-12:30
Oct 25 & 26 - 9:30-12:30
Nov 1 & 2 - 9:30-12:30
Nov 8 & 9 - 9:30-12:30

Please bring with you proof of income and residence (i.e. rent receipt, utility bill, etc.) and identification for every member of your household. Registration closes on November 9th, 2023.

Due to our limited funds and donations, any enquiries after November 9th will be put on a waitlist.

Holly Days Hamper Pickups:

When you register, you'll receive a ticket for when your hampers will be ready for pickup. To help you maintain the element of surprise, we ask that you do not bring your children when you come to pick up Holly Days Hampers & Toys.

Dec 13: Christmas Hamper & Toys pickup for families from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm
Dec 14: Christmas Hamper pickup for singles and couples from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm
